Aatoon Nina Massey

We lived on a farm south of Columbus, Ohio until I was ready for second grade.  I played outside in the woods, fields, and streams and learned to love nature very early.

I attended Catholic school through the 8th grade.  I prayed throughout my childhood for a vision of the Mother of Jesus, Mary.  My mother was a devotee and took me to many devotional services in the church.

At Ohio State University, where I receive a Bachelor’s Degree in Fine Arts with an emphasis in Drawing, Painting & Graphics, I minored in Art History.  During these studies, I learned that the history of art is the history of how humanity has thought about the Divine over time.

I have worked in education since 1978, as a preschool teacher, elementary teacher and middle school instructor.  I also worked as a Literacy Leader and a Reading Specialist.  I worked in Alaska for 30 years, and have been working part-time, temporary grant jobs in Ohio for the last 11.

Since the late 80’s I have been following an American Universalist path, teaching the Dances of Universal Peace and Sufi classes in the Ruhaniat. This path has led me to study Buddhism, Hinduism, Zoroastrianism, the Goddess, Christianity, etc. It is a rich path, accepting all ways as a way to reach the Divine within.  All are welcome.
